Special Days for December

December 1^st - Jan Brett’s birthday. Be sure to visit her incredible website and enjoy her marvelous picture books.

December 5^th – Bathtub Party Day (who knew?) You’ll find a recipe for bathtub fingerpaints paints here

Bernard’s Bath was a favourite in our family. Young Bernard doesn’t enjoy bathtime nearly as much as mom, dad or grandma – but the soap crayons and bubbles are awfully tempting!

December 10^th – Mercer Mayer’s birthday. You’ll find loads of printables for Little Critter fans here.

December25^th – Christmas Day

Each year we add one extra-special Christmas book to our library. Past selections have included the exquisite The Polar Express, Jan Brett’s The Night Before Christmas (see above) and Walter Wick’s Can You See What I See? The Night Before Christmas. Roy MacGregor’s wonderful hockey story Forever is a new favourite – not for young children but a great book you will return to year after year.
