Kids love series; mine included. Maybe it’s the connection to the characters; knowing there’s more to come.

My youngest son (now 13) used to be a somewhat reluctant reader. These days, he gravitates toward series. He loves to line up all the books on his bookshelf – I think he almost views them as trophies.Occasionally, he will decide to reread a series and, although this might be frowned on my some, my sense is that, when he rereads a series like Harry Potter or The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness or Percy Jackson, he discovers all sort of connections between the books.
